MUNBU 2024
Oya Akın Yıldız Schools proudly announces its exceptional performance at the eleventh MUNBU Conference, MUNBU 2024. A delegation of 38 students, accompanied by three advisors, represented our school with utmost dedication and expertise.
During the conference, our students demonstrated remarkable skills and knowledge in various committees, and their hard work was recognized with prestigious awards.
Leading the charge was Barış Pakiş, a seasoned 12th grader, who tackled the challenges of the Historical Crisis Committee with remarkable poise and historical savvy. His insightful interventions and collaborative spirit earned him a well-deserved Honorable Mention, a testament to his leadership and critical thinking skills.
Fellow 10th grader, Defne Çetin, proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the UNWOMEN committee. Her eloquent advocacy for gender equality and her unwavering commitment to social justice resonated with judges and delegates, securing another Honorable Mention. Defne's passion and dedication are a beacon of hope for a brighter future.
But the accolades didn't stop there! Nazlı Çakmak, another brilliant 12th grader, ascended the ranks of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (UNCND) committee, her masterful negotiations and deep understanding of environmental issues culminating in a prestigious Best Delegate Award.
These individual achievements are only part of the story. Every member of our MUN contingent demonstrated exceptional communication skills, critical thinking, and a passion for global issues. They collaborated, debated, and negotiated with unwavering determination, forging friendships, and fostering understanding across borders.
The success of our students at MUNBU 2024 is a source of immense pride for Oya Akın Yıldız Schools.
